Remix reminds me of the early years of SmartSound, where we could creatively adjust the duration of a piece of music, while still retaining the overall sound and feeling. Why? Because Remix slices-and-dices music, it doesn’t pay any attention to the content or structure of the lyrics. While Remix works fine on instrumental music, I don’t recommend you use it for any music that has lyrics. The best way to use both these sliders is to adjust one, then listen to the music. The clip in the Timeline shows where the edits are made, though you can’t adjust them. Instead, you can adjust two sliders:Īdjusting Edit Length allows Remix to adjust how close together ( Short) or farther apart ( Long) edits and sequences are placed.Īdjusting Features allows Remix to emphasize spectral ( Timbre) or harmonic characteristics of the music when determining where to place edit points. So, I entered 25:00 and the music was recut to 29:27. Instantly, Premiere re-edited it to 34:05. I needed it for a 30 second promo, so I entered 00:00:30:00. Remix is good, but it can only reedit music ±5 seconds of your selected duration, simply due to fact that music has beats and melodic themes that can’t be arbitrarily cut. Enter the approximate duration for your new music. This feature works fine from that Workspace.īy default, Remix is selected. NOTE: While Premiere (Beta) supports multiple workspaces, the default is Edit. The Duration portion of the panel is the new addition. NOTE: Remix can shorten longer audio clips, but not make a short audio clip longer.Įdit the audio clip who’s duration you want to adjust into the Timeline, then select it.įrom the Clip menu in the Menubar, choose Clip > Remix > Enable Remix. Now, Adobe is experimenting with it in the beta version of Premiere Pro. In most cases, manually editing music ends up sounding like you went at it with a meat cleaver and a dull knife. Time for that laborious process of manually editing music to get it to the right length and that’s assuming you can cleanly match the beat and harmonic transitions in the music. You COULD just fade it in or out, but it sounds SO MUCH better when the music starts and ends naturally.

My Samsung S21 Android phone got a security update yesterday. So, here’s the problem: You have the perfect piece of music for your video project, but it’s too long. I have never had a problem using video from this phone in Premiere Pro in the past. I shot a test video this morning and got the same result. The video I shot to illustrate this issue and then imported from my phone to my desktop shows audio but no video in Premiere Pro. Upvote Translate Report Ann Bens Community Expert, Try and normalize Audio Gain on a gopro/phone clip. I was asked to shoot some video showing the problems. Yes, I've tried right clicking on the clips and Fading In/Out the audio, as you suggested, but it has exactly the same effect that I'm experiencing, in only partially winding it down. The second issue is that I asked the above questions in Adobe Premiere Pro community help. When I play the production back, half the places where I have put video in the background have only one letter showing, or none.Īre these two things related, and what can I do to keep all my added text? It returns to yellow when I add the keyframes.Ī possibly related issue is that I add text to the backgrounds of some regular video segments in other places throughout the video. I have noticed that all of the video I put on the timeline has a yellow “fx” symbol on it, even though I haven’t added any effects, that turns to black and gray when I say “Yes”. I say "Yes" because there doesn't seem to be any problem with any of the fade-ins. We’ll begin by moving the playhead where we want to start fading out the clip. When I set-up the first keyframe, I get the message "This action will delete existing keyframes. For a fade-out effect, we’ll do the same video transition as before. The first is this: I insert a black video background segment with white text periodically in my video and then use key frames to do a fade-in to the regular video segment.
